How to soundproof a car hood? Step-by-step instructions
1. If the hood already has soundproofing, it must first be removed. If the soundproofing is missing, we proceed to step 2.
2. We degrease the surface of the hood with extraction gasoline.
3. We choose ABMProfessional butyl mat for better effect we recommend ABM Xtreme with a thickness of 1.5 to 2 mm, then lining the sheet with the mat.
4. After lining with butyl mat, we level with an assembly roller to get rid of any air that is left.
5. We degrease the aluminum from the butyl mat, before laying the rubber foam
6. We dampen with rubber foam between 6 and 10 mm thick. If there is room to install a thicker foam, we prefer to do it for better effect.
We choose the thickness of the rubber foam according to the place in the car!
Rubber foam can withstand up to 120 ℃ and is self-quenching!
