How to soundproof the wheel arches in a car? Step-by-step instructions
1. We start by removing the wheel arches using the appropriate kit for removing plastics in the car.
2. Thoroughly clean the wheel arches, a lot of dirt collects there, it is worth wiping thoroughly after washing!
3. After drying, we degrease with extraction gasoline.
4. Soundproofing with ABM Professional butyl mat with a thickness of 3.0 mm for a better effect we recommend ABM Professional 4.0 mm on the inside and outside of the wheel arch.
5. Thoroughly roll out with an assembly roller, getting rid of any residual air under the mat
6. When we feel that there is a little air left in some place, we remove it by pressing it to the nearest outlet/edge!
7. We degrease the butyl mat before laying down the rubber foam.
8. Where we have the butyl mat lined, we lay the rubber foam on the inside and outside of the wheel arch. The preferred thickness is 13mm. If there is room to install thicker foam, we prefer to do it for better effect.
9. We select the thickness of the rubber foam according to the place in the car!
10. After completing the rubber foam lining, we deal with the installation of the wheel arches.
